  • First public seminar series
  • Two research grant applications
  • Appointment of Director of the Institute and initial administrative staff
  • Study tour programme launched and consultancy work commenced
  • Web page and publicity campaign launched

Year Two 2008-9

  • Professorial and teaching staff appointments
  • Begin teaching undergraduate modules
  • Establishment of Masters programme working party
  • Exchange fellowships with Cuban Universities begun
  • Commencement of two research studies
  • Library and literature base commenced
  • Annual conference planned
  • Major fundraising drive
  • Academic and research staff appointed

Year Three 2009-10

  • Recruitment to taught Masters Programme
  • PhD research fellowships established
  • Reports on work in progress
  • Expansion of academic studies
  • First annual conference
  • Student bursaries launched
  • Consultancy unit and travel programme fully functional
