Ignacio, the director of Le Monde Diplomatique will be speaking at London Metropolitan University on October 10th. This is the IISC’s launch event and pressure for admission will be high, so please make sure you reserve a seat by emailing Claire at admin@cubastudies.org immediately.

The IISC website is now fully operational and contains all up to date information about our activities. It also contains a regularly updated Cuba News Page and papers and articles written by our staff.

Cuba Studies Trust

The Cuba Studies Trust is now fully established as a charity and has been given its charity number by the charities commission (No. 1120208).  It is currently developing its website.

The aims of the charity are to help fund the educational work of the IISC and scholarships for students. If you wish to make a donation please email us for an information pack.

IISC in the news

The IISC is now making the news with appearances by its staff on BBC radio, the Armed Forces Radio and in newspapers. Members of our team are also making regular speaking engagements.

Professor Patrick Pietroni, the Director of the IISC gave a lecture on Cuban Medical Care at the Royal Society of Medicine in London in February and at the House Commons All Party Cuba Group in May.

IISC assistant Director, Dr. Stephen Wilkinson, spoke on the prospects for change in US policy towards Cuba to the Cuba Initiative at Canning House in London in July.

Please contact the IISC for expert advice and commentary on events in Cuba and on Cuba issues as they relate to the US and the rest of the world.

IISC Study tours
Following the great success in organising the Cranfield University International Business Experience trip to Cuba in June, the IISC has launched its full Educational study tours service.

With the help from our counterpart office in Havana, the IISC is in a position to help with the organisation of any educational experience that you may wish to organise. Whether it is a period of study for an individual student or a group study visit, we can help.

Full details of our service and a downloadable leaflet are available here.
