On 6th February 2008, two of the UK's leading specialists on Venezuela and
Cuba, Dr Julia Buxton and Emily Morris spoke at the International Institute for the Study of Cuba on the subject of Cuba's relationship with Venezuela.
Dr Buxton, of the Centre for International Cooperation and Security at the University of Bradford, examined the myths and realities surrounding the political relationship from Venezuela's point of view.
Emily Morris, Senior Editor of the Economist Intelligence Unit, interrogated the economic relationship and evaluated how far it can be said that Cuba is now dependent on Venezuela.
180 people attended the seminar held in the Henry Thomas Room, of the Tower Building in North Campus.
